Jase Pinerola, PT, DPT, President of Clinical Services for OHP Work Care and SouthernCare Walk-in Clinics, has a different take on work injury treatment – prevent them in the first place! Many companies and industries espouse that philosophy, but limit their efforts to safety practices. That’s an excellent place to start, but it’s just a start. Dr. Pinerola, a licensed physical therapist, helps companies take the next step – early intervention. Earlier this month, Jase and Dan Richardson, of Orthopedics Plus Physical Therapy, were on-site at Country Oven Bakery, assessing the different types of work and physical demands each job requires. They will be on-site on a regular basis to meet with employees, educate them on proper ergonomic and body mechanics to perform different types of work. They will also counsel with employees on strains and soreness, given them ways to cope with those issue BEFORE they develop into an injury. It keeps employees from becoming injured, where lost time and treatment become a problem for employees and industries alike.
